How is Tack different from other bluetooth trackers like AirTag, etc?

Modified on Thu, 28 Nov at 3:33 PM

Tack GPS (Plus) tracker has a built-in modem and SIM card so that it works independently on its own without relying on your phone to send its location like other bluetooth trackers.

The AirTag is a bluetooth tracker that works by piggybacking on nearby iPhone to send the iPhone's location to the the AirTag owner. If there is no iPhone nearby, the AirTag will not be able to send its location.

While bluetooth trackers will work for tracking personal items like laptop bags, keys, wallets, etc, they are not suited for tracking people, pets, and frequently moved assets like bikes and vehicles, etc as the high mobility of people, pets and these assets meant that location tracking can be unreliable depending on whenever this is any smartphone nearby for these bluetooth trackers to piggyback on.

Also Airtag does not store location history, the AirTag owner will only be able to see location of the last iPhone it is able to piggy back on, whereas the owner of Tack GPS (Plus) tracker will be able to see location histories on the app.
