Why Does My Tack GPS Battery Not Last?

Tack GPS devices are designed to provide up to 30 days of battery life under "Standard" Mode on average. However, certain factors can affect battery performance. Here’s what you need to know:


Factors Affecting Battery Life

  1. High Location Update Frequency:

    • Frequent location updates can drain the battery faster. Ensure that your Tracking Mode is set to a level that matches your tracking needs without unnecessary updates.

  2. Poor Cellular Network Conditions:

    • In areas with weak mobile signals, the device uses more power to connect, which can reduce battery life.

  3. Improper Placement:

    • Placement near metal objects (e.g., dog tags, belt buckles) or in obstructed locations (e.g., inside pockets or multiple compartments) can lead to poor signal strength and faster battery depletion.

  4. Outdoor Performance Mode:

    • Using Outdoor Performance Mode can significantly reduce battery life if the device is indoors or in sheltered areas. Switch to a more suitable mode for such conditions.

  5. Extreme Weather Conditions:

    • Operating in extremely hot conditions, such as prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, or in severe cold climates, can negatively impact battery performance, leading to faster battery drainage.

  • Choose the Right Tracking Mode:

    • Use  Standard Mode if high-frequency updates are not necessary.

  • Ensure Proper Placement:

    • Keep the device in open areas, away from obstructions and metal objects.

  • Check Signal Strength:
