Your Tack GPS can connect to a Wi-Fi network to improve location accuracy, especially indoors where satellite signals are weak. Wi-Fi Positioning usage is already covered by your Tack Cloud subscription, so there is no extra cost.
How to Configure Wi-Fi
- Open the OurSphere app.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Tack Management.
- Find the Tack device you want to configure.
- Tap More.
- Tap Configure Wi-Fi.
- Enter your Wi-Fi network name and password, then save.
If you have more than one Tack device paired to your account, make sure you have selected the correct one in Tack Management before tapping More. The Wi-Fi settings apply only to the device you selected.
Why Configure Wi-Fi?
- Better indoor accuracy. GPS satellite signals struggle indoors. Wi-Fi Positioning helps your Tack report a more accurate location inside buildings.
- No additional cost. Wi-Fi Positioning usage is included in your Tack Cloud subscription.
If Configure Wi-Fi Does Not Work
- Use a 2.4 GHz network. Tack GPS cannot connect to 5 GHz Wi-Fi. If your router only broadcasts 5 GHz, use your phone's hotspot with Compatibility Mode turned on.
- Check that you are running the latest version of the OurSphere app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Double check the Wi-Fi password. It is case sensitive.
- Make sure the device has charge and is reporting normally in the app.
If Wi-Fi still will not configure, contact Tack Support at support@tackgps.app with your device serial number, which you can find on the back of the device or in the OurSphere app under Settings > Tack Management > Manage Plan.
