What Is Power Saving Mode?

Power Saving Mode is designed for Tack GPS users who prioritise optimising battery life for low-priority tracking. This mode significantly extends battery life by reducing the frequency of location updates.

How Does Power Saving Mode Work?

1. Location Update Frequency:

   • If the device’s location changes: Tack GPS sends an update every 4 hours.

   • If the device’s location does not change: Updates are sent every 24 hours.

2. Battery Life:

   • Power Saving Mode allows the battery to last up to 90 days, making it ideal for assets that require infrequent tracking.

When to Use Power Saving Mode

• Best For:

  • Low-priority tracking needs, such as stationary or rarely moved assets.

• Strictly Not Recommended For:

  • Tracking people, pets, or frequently moving assets, as the reduced update frequency may result in delayed notifications or location updates.

Switching Out of Power Saving Mode

• Automatic Transition:

  • Switching out of Power Saving Mode may take up to 24 hours to activate the new tracking mode.

• Manual Transition:

  • To change tracking mode immediately:

    1. Select your desired tracking mode in the OurSphere app.

    2. Press the Power Button on the Tack GPS tracker once to force an immediate update.
